Split & Merge

In Conviction’s prediction markets, each market is always composed of two outcomes (e.g., YES / NO). Holding both together is designed to always equal one unit of the underlying collateral (1 collateral) in value.

At any time, a user can split 1 unit of collateral into 1 YES share + 1 NO share for the same market, or merge an equal amount of YES and NO shares back into 1 unit of collateral.

By using these Split / Merge functions, users can:

• keep only YES to take a directional position, or

• merge back to unwind their exposure to the market,

enabling more flexible position management and more efficient use of capital.
