Outcomes (Shares)

In each market, what you buy and sell are outcomes. In a binary market there are two — YES and NO — and the unit you hold is called a share.

#What one share means

  • The price of one share is a value between 0 and 1 USDT.
  • At market settlement, 1 winning share = exactly 1 USDT, and 1 losing share = 0 USDT.
  • That's why the current price is the market's estimated probability. A price of 0.65 means the market sees a "65% chance".
1 winning share → 1 USDT
1 losing share → 0 USDT

#YES and NO are separate holdings

YES and NO in the same market are separate holdings. Holding YES doesn't automatically create NO. Each can be bought and sold separately, and their balances are shown separately.

If you hold equal amounts of YES and NO, you can convert them back into USDT with Merge; conversely, you can Split USDT to create a YES+NO pair.

#Checking your holdings

The outcomes you hold can be checked in the Positions tab of the market detail page or in your profile. There's no need to add a token or change any settings.
