Referrals
Conviction's referral is a simple one-level relationship that activates the moment you sign up. Once you're invited by someone or invite someone yourself, that relationship is permanent and is reflected in your fee and reward calculations.
Fee discounts and the points program are currently paused, so referral benefits are not being applied for now. Referral relationships you create today are permanent and take effect when the programs are enabled.
#How it works
- Find your personal referral code on your profile page.
- When someone signs up using that code, you become their referrer and they become your referee.
- If you signed up using someone else's code, that person is your referrer.
A referral relationship is one-directional: an account can have only one referrer, and there's no limit on the number of referees.
#Fee discount tiers
As long as a referral relationship exists, Tier B (20% discount) applies automatically. Once cumulative volume exceeds $30k, you're promoted to Tier C (40% discount, 90 days), and beyond $100k to Tier D (40% permanent). See the Fees doc for the full table.
#Reward points
The sign-up / first-trade point rules in the Rewards doc branch into 4 cases based on referral status. Even if you had no referrer at sign-up, if someone later signs up with your code, the bonus you previously missed is granted retroactively, one time.
#Frequently asked questions
Q. Can I add or change my referrer after signing up? No. Once set, the referrer relationship doesn't change.
Q. Can I refer myself? It isn't blocked at the system level, but if such a workaround is detected, rewards may be clawed back.
